Homage To All Warrior Women
This Mother’s Day is a first for me in many ways. I am now an official Mom to baby Nico, born 11/11/16. Before Nico, it was just my husband and I enjoying life. (the above photo is of me, my mom, my mother-in-law, and Nico)

Old Town, Sacramento

We had 5 years of struggle trying to get pregnant with 2 miscarriages and lots of tests, trials, and tribulations. We did acupuncture for a year where both of us went to weekly appointments.  Adoption was a consideration where we attended multiple interviews with both lawyers and state agencies. Finally, we were genetically tested and found out that I was a carrier of a ton of defects such as cystic fibrosis among others. For this reason, we believed that my body naturally aborted the previous babies because they may have held these defects. For whatever reason, we didn’t get pregnant or lost the babies, we still managed to keep the love going between us. It wasn’t easy and Tomas and I had our moments. But with proper communication, we were able to be open with one another and work it out.

At the end of our journey, we decided to do IVF and it was a success. Soooo, we welcome our newest addition, Nico Tomaso King, to our lives which has changed it completely for the better.

Me, My Dad, Baby Nico, & My Mom

This Mother’s Day is an Homage to all Warrior Women who have struggled to build a family, help their loved ones, and keep life moving onward and upward. Taking care of others is a hard job, no matter how fulfilling it can be. We sacrifice ourselves at times. Sometimes, we forget about our basic needs because we put others first. And in the end, we shower our loved ones with joy and care. And it’s ALL good!

So this Mother’s Day is a reminder to all Warrior Women how special you are. And continue to persevere with your dreams and goals because happy endings are real and they can come true. Always put love into everything you do. Whether you are cooking or cleaning, the love we put into our lives comes back to us and makes this world continue to be special, kind, and worth living for.
